Piece 02: The “Normal” Anime Eyes Makeup

As promised from the previous post (besides the gala post (~ ̄▽ ̄)~), this time we are going to talk about the eye makeup for different types of characters. However, I want to clearly explain how each type of eye makeup works, I decided to divide this topic into 4 posts.

As I mentioned in the last post, just like the reality, there are so many different kind of eyes in the world of anime as well. From what I observed, I’ll divide all eyes into 4 types, and each type will have the difference between feminine and masculine.

Note: It might look weird at first, because we are changing the shape of our eyes, just want to let you know, most of the time you’re doing great; you might think you had messed it up, but probably not, so keep going!~

Let’s start with the lightest makeup – the “normal” eyes. Why do I have to put the word “normal” in between two bunnies (why bunnies, try to do the quotes with your hands ლ(╹◡╹)ლ) ? Because this normal eye doesn’t mean the normal in the reality, so don’t think you can get away with no makeup when it comes to cosplay. (。◕ˇ‿ˇ◕。) ((Serious mode on ww

Although it is the normal eyes, and it has the lightest makeup; however, this type of makeup is actually the hardest, because you need to make it seems like you barely wearing any makeup (or “no makeup” at all) while “enlarging” your eyes.

***After all moisturiser, color contacts, primers and base***

*Since my makeup skills is not that good, I will show the progress with Photoshop*

NOTE: The following pictures, I will show feminine eye on the left, and masculine eye on the right. (´✪▽✪` )ノ

Step 1:

First, eyeliners! (Actually double eyelid tape first if you need it ☆~(´∀`))

Simply apply the eyeliner, starting from the middle, then go toward to the head and the end, don’t need to make the end sharps, but slightly longer than your eye shape.

Step 2:

Then we going to apply brown eyeliner at the bottom part of the eye (from end to middle), if you don’t have brown eyeliner, use black eyeliner then slightly use brown eyeshadow to blend it a little.

✧*:・Magical Part: Remember to leave a little curve for some extra white of the eye.

Step 3:

Now, we work the magic and start making our eyes bigger! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Apply sparkly white eyeshadow (or eyeliner) on the highlighted part appear in the picture, if you don’t have sparkly white eyeshadow, you can use plain white eyeshadow too, it might just look less pop out.

Now you will probably think why you need to apply the white eyeshadow at the bottom of the eye, this looks weird… Yes! Because our magic is only half way through!

Step 4:

Carefully apply brown or grey eyeshadow (or few shades darker than your skin tone) underneath the white eyeshadow (show as above). Ta-Da!!~ *:・゚✧ Now your eyes should look bigger!~ (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Final step!

For masculine eyes: simply apply mascara on your top and bottom lashes, done!~ *:・゚✧

For feminine eyes: Pick and apply a pair of fake eyelashes following the top eyeliners you draw earlier, then lightly apply mascara at the bottom eyelashes. Boom! Magic!*:・゚✧
